Welcome to Patterdale Estate. Established in 1959, we are a peaceful sanctuary nestled at the head of Ullswater.

Whether you choose one of our 15 unique self-catering properties or park up at our exclusive 5-pitch Caravan & Motorhome site, you gain access to our exclusive woodland walks and our own private lakeshore.

Every time you holiday with us, you are contributing to the challenging work YMCA undertakes: transforming the lives of young people in the North East.

The work of YMCA North Tyneside centres on:

Providing a home for homeless young people
Street based youth work to help tackle anti-social behaviour
Supporting young people with mental health disorders
Providing training and education for young people
Campaigning on things that matter to young people
Addressing the needs of those young people most in need

We had a wonderful stay in the Kestrel Lodge. The accommodation was in a great location and had everything we needed, truly making it a home from home. Mike was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions.

Love it here and have stayed 3 times now. It's a great base for our hiking. Chalets are fully equipped with everything you need. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

It's unusual for me to give a 5 star rating to a place that's... when all said and done, pretty basic but I just love the place! It's so beautiful and peaceful away from the traditional tourist areas of the Lakes and the kids can play in total safety and freedom.
